Commencement Week Schedule of Events
The Pinning Ceremony for nursing graduates will be Friday, May 9, 2014, at 2 p.m. in Madison Park Christian Church, Quincy Ill.
The Honors Day Celebration/Convocation will be held on Monday, May 12, 2014. Each academic division honors students in their division in an afternoon event. An all school convocation will also be held at 7 p.m. that evening to recognize outstanding students. Graduates will process into the evening convocation in cap and gown.
Senior Days will be held May 14-16. For more information contact the Student Life Office or Alumni Office.
Commencement Rehearsal is Friday, May 16, 2014, at 9:30 a.m. Please meet at the Joe Charles Field House. All students participating in commencement are expected to attend. If a student is unable to participate in the ceremony, please contact the Registrar's Office. Honor cords will be distributed at rehearsal.
Baccalaureate is Friday, May 16, 2014, at 7:30 p.m. in the Alexander Campbell Auditorium. Graduates are strongly encouraged to attend this inspirational service. Graduates are to wear caps and gowns.
Commencement is Saturday, May 17, 2014, at 9:30 a.m. The ceremony will take place on the lawn of the Quadrangle (adjacent to Henderson Hall). In case of inclement weather, the ceremony will be held in the Joe Charles Field House. Seating will begin at 7:00 a.m. on a first-come, first-served basis. Tickets are not required for commencement. Please remember that there is limited seating at the graduation ceremony. Therefore, use your common sense and good judgment when inviting guests to the ceremony. We want everyone attending to have a seat.
If special consideration needs to be made for guests who are physically challenged, please inform the Campus Safety Office at (573) 288-6300. If a guest needs a sign language interpreter, please contact the Registrar’s Office at (573) 288-6330 or firstname.lastname@example.org so accommodations may be made.
A shuttle service will be provided for parking in distant parking lots, including the Centerstone Inn.
Caps and gowns can be ordered by students by logging in to MyCulver and selecting the Graduation Information link from the Student tab. The $125 graduation fee covers the cap, gown, diploma and other fees associated with graduation. This fee is added to the student's account in the semester the student intends to graduate. Caps and gowns will be available for pick-up in the Registrar's office. Class rings may be ordered at www.jostens.com. Information on ordering class rings is available in the Wildcat Warehouse.
To order personalized announcements online, go to www.herffjones.com/college. Non-personalized announcements will be available for purchase in the Registrar's Office. These should both be available by March 1, 2014.
A professional photographer will be at the commencement ceremony to take photos of graduates as they receive their diploma. Photos may be ordered after April 1.
