BRCN standards
Students who wish to be admitted into the nursing program must meet the admission standards of the Blessing-Rieman College of Nursing, which are:
- PRIORITY ONE: High school students with an ACT score of 22 or above and high school GPA of at least 3.0. Will be admitted as freshmen. They are considered official nursing majors at the end of the freshman year if they meet the following requirements:
- Cumulative GPA of 2.5*
- Support course GPA of 2.5*
- Completion of all prerequisite courses for the sophomore nursing courses with a grade of C or better*
- Completion of at least 24 hours of college credit*
*Required of all four groups of entering nursing students.
Blessing-Rieman will assign an advisor at the beginning of the second semester of a students freshman year if students are meeting admissions requirements at that time. They will be allowed to pre-register for sophomore nursing courses.

PRIORITY TWO: High school students with an ACT score of 19-21 or a GPA below 3.0. May be admitted to Culver-Stockton as pre-nursing students if they meet that college’s admission requirements. They may apply to the nursing major as soon as they are accepted to C-SC. During or before their freshman year they must retake the ACT or take an admissions assessment (A2) test at BRCN to fulfill the ACT requirement. They must also maintain a 2.5 GPA and complete all pre-nursing courses with a C or better during their freshman year in order to begin nursing classes and clinicals their sophomore year.
PRIORITY THREE: High school students with an ACT score of 18 or below may be admitted to Culver-Stockton on a case by case basis as a conditional nursing student. These students need to retake the ACT and achieve a 22 or higher or take admissions assessment (A2) test at BRCN to fulfill the ACT requirement. These students must also maintain a 2.5 cumulative GPA, a 2.5 support course GPA, and complete all pre-nursing courses with a C or better throughout their freshman year to be able to begin nursing courses and clinicals their sophomore year.
PRIORITY FOUR: Transfer sophomore students may be admitted to the nursing program if they have completed English 100, anatomy and physiology II or microbiology, with a grade of a c or better. Completion of at least 24 college credit hours, a 2.5 cumulative GPA, a 2.5 support course GPA, and an ACT of 22 or higher are also required.

READMISSION: To be re-admitted to the nursing program, students must apply and be accepted by both C-SC and BRCN. Re-admission is subject to space limitations.
