Cross country was reinstated as an intercollegiate sport after nearly 30 years and has quickly risen to prominence in the athletic food chain. Several runners challenged for the conference title in 2008 and many more challenges will be forthcoming as the Wildcats build a powerful recruiting base. Randolph to run cross contry at C-SC

Culver-Stockton College women's basketball coach Melissa Young and cross country coach Doug Savage have jointly announced that Spencer Randolph has signed letter of intents to attend school and play both sports, beginning with the 2012-13 school year.
Randolph, a 5-foot-4 guard from St. Louis, Mo. (Principia HS), averaged 5.6 points, 2.9 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 2.3 steals per game for Principia as a senior.
On the cross country course, Randolph ran a season-best 22:30.80 while finishing 12th in the Metro League meet. She qualified for the Missouri Class 2 state meet with a 10th place finish at the district meet, covering that course in 23:29.43. At the state meet, Randolph recorded a time of 22:54.20 and placed 73rd overall.
Randolph is the fifth player that has had her signing announced by Coach Young, joining 5-foot-9 guard Jasmine Mathews of Troy, Mo. (Troy Buchanan HS), 5-foot-6 guard Brittni Brandwein of Martinsburg, Mo. (Community R-VI HS), 5-foot-10 guard Randi Lee Plunkett of Philadelphia, Mo (Marion County HS) and 5-foot-11 center Kati Davis of Owensville, Mo. (Owensville HS).
Culver-Stockton, located in Canton, Mo., is affiliated with the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and is a member of the 10-team Heart of America Athletic Conference (HAAC) featuring colleges and universities in Missouri, Kansas, Iowa and Nebraska.
