The women's soccer program is beginning its second decade of competition in the always-tough Heart of America Athletic Conference. Ten players have been honored as all-conference selections and eight others were named NAIA Scholar-Athletes. Culver-Stockton College women's soccer coach Tyler Tomlinson has announced that Joanna Stratman has has been added to the roster and will attend school and play for the Lady Wildcats, beginning with the 2012-13 school year.

Stratman, a midfielder from St. Louis, Mo. (Hancock HS / Harris-Stowe State University) played in all 19 games for Harris-Stowe as a freshman last season, making 17 starts. She netted one goal for the Hornets during her only season.

In high school, Stratman was a four-year starter at Hancock where she was named to the South Central Athletic Association all-conference team all four seasons, incouding first team honors her junioor and senior years. She was also named to the all-district team and team most valuable player.

"Joanna's speed and quickness set her apart from other players," said Tomlinson. "She brings that pace, a year of college soccer experience, and a great attitude to Culver-Stockton."

Stratman is the 16th recruit to sign with the Lady Wildcats for the 2012-13 season, joining defender Jill Griebel of St. Louis, Mo. (Rosati-Kain HS); midfielder Kelsie Schlager of O'Fallon, Mo (Fort Zumwalt North HS); midfielder Alyx Seats of Wentzvile, Mo. (Timberland HS), Hannah LeBlanc of Mount Pleasant, Iowa (Mount Pleasant HS), forward Skylar Barger of Buhl, Idaho (Buhl, HS), and defender Hannah Witte of Quincy, Ill. (Quincy Notre Dame HS),.

Also signing with the Wildcats are forward Brittney McMahon of St. Louis, Mo. (Hancock Place HS) midfielder Cassidy Rogers of Falcon, Colo. (Falcon HS), forward Miranda Raevsky of Rose Hill, Kan. (Rose Hill HS), midfielder Vanessa Herr of Bloomington, Ill. (Central Catholic HS/Kaskaskia College) defender Alex Wipfler-Gronek of Saint Peters, Mo. (Fort Zumwalt East HS), goalkeeper Marissa DiSchino of Greenwood, Ind. (Center Grove HS) and midfielder Amanda Jones of Katy, Texas (Katy HS), forward Bri Marzette of Beloit, Wis. (Beloit Memorial HS / University of South Dakota) and midfielder Courtney Ferguson of Wentzville, Mo. (Holt HS).

Culver-Stockton, located in Canton, Mo., is affiliated with the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and is a member of the 10-team Heart of America Athletic Conference (HAAC) featuring colleges and universities in Missouri, Kansas, Iowa and Nebraska. The Wildcats completed the 2011 season with a 6-11-1 overall record.
