I traveled to Turkey, going to Istanbul, Troy, Smyrna, Sardis, Ephesus and Antalya. Studying abroad for me... what it really comes down to is you will not, and cannot have the same experience and perspective without physically being immersed in a culture or situation of your study. Culver-Stockton has made being a historian, for me, worth more than face value, but rather invaluable life experience. I now have substance to my degree, meaning behind my writings.
Culver-Stockton gave me the world to use in my studies, and not just the pages of a book. To stand at the mouth of the golden Horn and know that history is real... it's an overwhelming sensation.
