Your Culver-Stockton college years will be the first important steps to your career in accountancy. You can:

• Obtain your CMA at the college test center
  
• Complete 150 hours toward sitting for the CPA
• Prepare for graduate school and your MBA
  

Careers pursued by recent graduates include:

• Staff accountant, Caterpillar
• Staff accountant, Brown, Smith & Wallace CPA
• Staff auditor, Commerce Bancshares
• Compliance auditor, Missouri Department of Revenue.

In addition to job shadowing and internships, students also participate in the following:

• Travel to conferences around the United States
  
• Joining our nationally recognized student chapter of the Institute of Management Accountants.
  
• Networking with accounting professionals at the Quincy Area Chapter of the IMA
  
• Interacting with CEOs and other business leaders through C-SC Business Leadership Exchange
  
• Making real investments through C-SC's portfolio management course
  
• Learning about today's corporations through the Corporate Experience Travel Program, including annual trips to Chicago and Kansas City
• Obtaining global knowledge through travel abroad, such as the 2008 trip to China

C-SC accountancy majors have been extraordinarily successful both as undergraduates and as career professionals. For example:

• In the past decade, C-SC students have won more than $40,000 in the national scholarship competition of the Institute of Management Accountants.
  
• The C-SC student chapter of IMA has been named "Outstanding Student Chapter" – 1 of the top 3 student chapters in the nation – in successive years.
  
• The C-SC student chapter of IMA has received its "Best Practices" twice in a row.
  
• In 2007, IMA selected the C-SC student chapter for its top award – the Clark Johnson Achievement Award for outstanding leadership and innovation.
  
• C-SC student internships have included working in commodity trading at Archer Daniels Midland and being a summer research assistant at Citigroup Investment Research, New York City
  
• Recent graduates have gone on to accountancy jobs with Verizon Wireless, St. Louis, Mo.; the Government Accountability Office, Washington, D.C.; and such international companies as Caterpillar, Inc., headquartered in Peoria, Ill.; and Archer Daniels Midland Co., headquartered in Decatur, Ill., to name a few.
