Gain a solid foundation in business principles and strategies through student-centered learning, leadership opportunities and hands-on experiences. Apply these skills through internships, travel study, corporate workshops and more.

Specializations:

Accountancy and Finance: Select 12 hours of courses in cost management, risk management, real estate, investments, international corporate finance, or financial institutions and monetary policy.
Corporate Leadership:
Select 12 hours of courses in legal issues, ethical decision making, fraud prevention, cost management, investments, organizational communication and other special topics.
Marketing:
Dive into consumer behavior, business innovation, advertising, sports marketing, graphic design, public relations or multimedia in business.
Management Information Systems:
Learn about business programming, web programming, web development, intelligent systems, operations management or systems and networks.
Organizational Management:
Focus on legal issues, risk management, real estate, monetary policy, industrial psychology, operations management, advertising, management techniques and current economic trends.
Individualized:
Work with an advisor to tailor a specialization to achieve specific career goals. Students often combine a minor or a second major with business, such as psychology, sports management, criminal justice or mathematics.

Fast Facts:

- Business majors may double-major or minor in many subjects, such as psychology, sports management, criminal justice, math, communication and web design.
- Interact with corporate leaders in Business Leadership Exchange lecture series and participate in Corporate Experience Seminars with executives in board rooms of major corporations in Chicago and Kansas City.
- Travel to conferences in Nashville, Chicago, Dallas, New Orleans and more.
- All students complete an internship, arranged with guidance from their counselors and the Career Services Center.
