Vocal ensembles at Culver-Stockton provide many opportunities for musical performance and enrichment. Generous music scholarships are available to both music majors and non-majors.
Collegiate Choir- The Collegiate Choir is Culver-Stockton College’s large non-auditioned chorus, and its membership includes students, faculty, and community members. This ensemble performs at least one major work with an orchestra every year, and is the principal chorus for the annual Festival of Lessons and Carols in December and the Pops Concert in the spring.
Concert Choir- The Concert Choir is the premier choral ensemble at Culver-Stockton College, and the singers in the group represent a variety of majors and previous experiences. The tie that binds this group together is their individual commitment to the pursuit of excellence in the performance of choral music. The Concert Choir has performed by invitation at the National Cathedral in Washington D.C., with the Quincy Symphony Orchestra, and for the Missouri Music Educators Association Conference. It has undertaken a national or international tour annually for nearly 70 years.
Chamber Choir- The Chamber Choir is an ensemble of 16-20 singers who are selected by a rigorous audition process from the membership of the Concert Choir. Its focus is on advanced choral music, new music, and vocal jazz.
Opera Workshop- The Opera Workshop provides serious vocal students with the opportunity to perform chamber operas, learn stage production techniques, and develop acting skills.
