4 Culver-Stockton alumni featured in art exhibit

CANTON, Mo. – The artworks of four Culver-Stockton alumni will be featured in the annual Alumni Art Exhibit at the Mabee Art Gallery on campus. In conjunction with Homecoming weekend, the exhibit opens on Thursday, October 2, at 7 p.m. A gallery talk will feature some of the artists at 7:30 p.m. on October 2. The show will remain on exhibit through Sunday, November 2.
The four featured artists are Cara Beale, John Grotts, Patrick Keyser and Tim McClelland. Grotts, a 1975 C-SC graduate, runs outpatient substance abuse groups when he isn’t painting. He is employed as a drug court officer with the Adams County Probation Department in Illinois. Beale, also a 1975 graduate, works in photography. She is employed with Child Care Connection at Illinois Central College, East Peoria, where she designs and conducts workshops on children’s literature. Keyser, a 2001 C-SC graduate, is a resident of Hannibal, Mo., and works as a graphic designer for Niemann Foods. He will have ceramic wall sculptures on exhibit. McClelland, who earned his bachelor’s of fine arts degree in 1982, works as a designer/illustrator at Media Development in Quincy, Ill. He also runs Maxgrafix, an illustration/design freelance business that provides a humorous bent on politics. His website is Maxgrafix.net.
