C-SC to feature cardiologist for lunch and learn event

CANTON, Mo. – In honor of February being “American Heart Month,” Culver-Stockton College is bringing Dr. Edward Ha, interventional cardiologist from Hannibal Regional Cardiovascular Institute, to speak to students on Tuesday, February 16, at 11:45 a.m. in Meaders Lounge. Dr. Ha is an expert in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the heart and blood vessels and specializes in interventional and non-interventional cardiology services.
Dr. Ha will speak about heart disease, risk factors, symptoms of heart attacks and what one can do to prevent heart disease. He will also speak about the cardiology services offered at Hannibal Regional Hospital and the different initiatives taking place to raise funds for the Cardiology Services Patient Assistance Fund, occurring in the month of February.
Dr. Ha, a native of Hannibal, Mo., graduated magna cum laude from Harvard University with a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry and earned his doctorate in medicine from Albert Einstein College of Medicine at Yeshiva University in Bronx, N.Y. He completed a residency in Internal Medicine at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, a post-doctoral fellowship in Cardiology at the University of Missouri – Columbia and a post-doctoral fellowship in Interventional Cardiology at the University of Washington, in Seattle, Wash. Dr. Ha is currently a clinical assistant professor of medicine at the University of Missouri-Columbia.
This presentation is a “lunch and learn” event. Those in attendance are encouraged to bring their lunch with them.
