Thursday, February 25, 2010
CANTON, MO. – The Culver-Stockton College Concert and Chamber Choirs will tour the state of Missouri, March 11-15. The choirs will stop at high schools each day and also perform evening concerts.
The tour begins Thursday, March 11, with the choirs working with high school students at Palmyra High School, Palmyra, Mo., and Mexico High School, Mexico, Mo. That evening the choirs will perform at the Lake of the Ozarks Christian Church and stay over night with congregation members.
“The tour experience is something that the students work toward all year as they prepare to be the public face of music at Culver-Stockton College,” said Dr. Kevin Baker, associate director of music and director of choral activities. “It bonds the current membership to each other through experiences that they remember all of their lives and it reacquaints our choir with alumni or attended Culver. It is a great experience for everyone involved.”
On Friday, March 12, the choirs will begin at Camdenton High School, Camdenton, Mo., and then move to Marshfield High School, Marshfield, Mo. The choirs will end the evening with a concert on the grand staircase at the Titanic Museum in Branson, Mo.
The C-SC choirs will travel to Kansas City, Mo., to perform at the Community Christian Church morning service on Sunday, March 14, and end the day with an evening concert at Country Club Christian Church.
The tour will end Monday, March 15 after the morning service at the Country Club Christian Church and an afternoon stop at Worth County High School in Grant City, Mo.
