John Bloom to give lecture on electric cooperatives for Business Leadership Exchange

CANTON, Mo. – Culver-Stockton College will welcome John Bloom, CEO/general manager of Lewis County Rural Electric Cooperative, as the speaker for the March 16, Business Leadership Exchange Lecture Series. His presentation, Electric Cooperatives: The Other Business Plan, will take place at 11:30 a.m. in the Merillat Recital Hall, located in the Robert W. Brown Performing Arts Center on the C-SC Campus.
Bloom was in the United States Army and served in Vietnam as a radio teletype operator. While in Vietnam he was awarded the bronze star. He then obtained a degree in middle management from Midwest Business College and a bachelor’s in marketing with a specialization in distributive education from the University of Northern Colorado.
Prior to Lewis County Rural Electric Cooperative, Bloom was the CFO at La Plata Electric in Durango, Colo., and Mountain Parks Electric in Granby, Colo. His work experience includes both retail and construction.
The Culver-Stockton Business Leadership Exchange Lecture Series is funded by Ron Leftwich, class of 1964, and Susie Leftwich and supported by the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) Student Chapter.
The series will continue on March 30, with Diane Graham, CEO and chairman of The STRATCO GLOBAL Companies, STRATCO®, Inc., and ECOPATH®.
