C-SC Student Life announces Community Assistants and Senior Community Assistants for 2010-11 year

CANTON, Mo. – After an exciting selection process with a high number of student applicants, the department of Residential Life has to announced the appointment of the following students on the Residential Life staff for the 2010-2011 academic year. Community Assistants and Senior Community Assistants take on the important task of managing and developing community within traditional residence halls and strive to create a memorable, engaging, and enriching residential experience for the students with whom they work. Residential Life will employ ten Community Assistants and five Senior Community Assistants during the 2010-2011 academic year as well as four Summer Community Assistants during the Summer 2010 term. Next year’s Community Assistants and Senior Community Assistants include:
In Johnson Hall, Danielle Hauer, junior arts management major from Troy, Mo., as the Senior Community Assistant. This will be her second year on staff in Residential Life. Jasmine Brown, sophomore communication major from Saginaw, Mich.; and Spencer McKeown, sophomore accountancy and finance major from Rushville, Ill., as Community Assistants, both for a second year.
In McDonald Hall, Jamartae Jackson, senior business major from Mesquite, Texas, has been appointed the Senior Community Assistant. This will be his fourth year on staff in Residential Life. Jerica Exum, junior arts management major from Chicago Heights, Ill.; and Wayne Morris, junior sports management major from Webster Groves, Mo., have been appointed Community Assistants, both for a second year.
In Shannon Hall, Adam Lee, junior athletic training major from Pittsfield, Ill., has been appointed the Senior Community Assistant. This will be his third year on staff in Residential Life. Brian Richardson, junior sports management major from Saginaw, Mich.; and Carrie Phillips, junior criminal justice and pre-law major from Elk Grove Village, Ill., have been appointed Community Assistants, both for a second year.
In Weldon Hall, Elise Obert, sophomore business major from Quincy, Ill., has been appointed the Senior Community Assistant. This will be her second year on staff in Residential Life. Lance Smith, junior history major from Memphis, Mo.; and Jose Garcia, freshman history major from Los Fresnos, Texas will begin their first year as Community Assistants.
In Wood Hall, Susannah Mohaupt, junior nursing major from Rockford, Ill., has been appointed the Senior Community Assistant. This will be her third year on staff in Residential Life. Kristen Knupp, sophomore psychology major from Wyaconda, Mo., will enter a second year as a Community Assistant. Sean McAvoy, freshman history major from Bluffton, Ind., will begin his first year as a Community Assistant.
Alternate candidates for the Community Assistant position during the 2010-2011 academic year include: Joey Burbach, sophomore vocal music education major from Grant City, Mo.; Jaclyn Duffy, freshman mathematics education major from Ferris, Ill.; Macy Ferguson-Smith, freshman English education major from Quincy, Ill.; Kalyn Hull, junior nursing major from Quincy, Ill.; Anthony Jahr, junior biology education major from Crystal Lake, Ill.; Cori Martin, junior elementary education major from Clark, Mo.; Kurt McKay, freshman undecided major from Florissant, Mo.; and Meghan Townley, freshman arts management major from Quincy, Ill.
During the Summer 2010 term, Adam Lee and Kristen Knupp have been appointed full-time Summer Community Assistants. Kathleen Patrick, junior arts management major from Grant City, Mo.; and Dallas Spurgeon, freshman criminal justice major from Canton, Mo., have been appointed part-time Summer Community Assistants. Both Patrick and Spurgeon are new to the Residential Life staff.
