Spring Concert Choir tour dates scheduled

CANTON, Mo. -- Continuing a spring choir tour tradition that spans more than 60 years, the Culver-Stockton College Concert Choir will travel throughout the region Thursday, March 10 through Monday, March 14 for church concert performances.

The choir has performed in Europe and many parts of the United States, branching out in different directions each year from the group’s home campus in Canton, Mo. Dr. Kevin Baker, C-SC associate professor of music, directs the choir in a wide variety of musical styles from grand traditional choral masterpieces to introspective anthems to rousing spirituals and praise songs. The spring tour allows the choir to share music with a wider public while also letting more than the local region know of its superb performing abilities. Choir tours serve as part of Culver-Stockton’s institutional outreach, affirming the college’s affiliation with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).

The Concert Choir schedule includes:

Thursday, March 10 – St. John’s Lutheran Church, Toluca, Ill.
Friday, March 11 – First Christian Church, Sterling, Ill.
Sunday, March 13 – Christian Church, Downers Grove, Ill.
Monday, March 14 – Macomb Christian Church, Macomb, Ill.
