"It's through the hard work and dedication of our faculty and staff that Culver- Stockton College has earned its position as a well known, well respected institution of higher learning, and we look to our new faculty members to help carry on this tradition. Each new faculty member brings with them knowledge and abilities that will further Culver-Stockton's commitment to providing students of promise with a superb education. We are fortunate to have such strong colleagues joining our school and welcome them to the C-SC family," said Richard Valentine, president of Culver-Stockton College. David Carrothers joins Culver-Stockton as senior lecturer in criminal justice. Carrothers previously served as an instructor of criminal justice at Tarleton State University in Stephenville, Texas. Dr. Fonzie Geary II will serve as visiting assistant professor of theatre. Geary comes to C-SC from the University of Missouri, where he previously served as a writing tutor and graduate instructor. Dr. Elliot Jones was named visiting assistant professor of music and director of choral activities. Jones most recently worked at Wesley College in Dover, Del., as assistant professor of music and director of choral music. Kevin Kocks joins Culver-Stockton as instructor of physical education/sport management and head baseball coach. Kocks previously served as head baseball coach for Division 1 Cleveland State University in Cleveland, Ohio. Dr. Holly LaFerriere was appointed visiting assistant professor of biology. Prior to joining C-SC, LaFerriere served as an instructor and teaching assistant at the University of Missouri. Eric Larson was named lecturer in business. Larson previously served as an associate faculty member at John Wood Community College in Quincy, Ill. He also previously worked as an investment representative for Edward Jones in Quincy, Ill. Brandon Lemer will assume the roles of instructor of physical education and sport management, assistant head football coach and defensive coordinator. Prior to joining Culver-Stockton, Lemer was a faculty member for the Health, Physical Education and Recreation Department at Minnesota State University Moorhead, Moorhead, Minn. Glenda McCarty joins Culver-Stockton as assistant professor of education. McCarty most recently worked as a graduate teaching assistant and a research assistant at the University of Missouri, St. Louis. Michael Prunty will serve as head men’s soccer coach and instructor of physical education and sport management. Prunty previously served as assistant men’s and women’s soccer coach at Simpson College in Indianola, Iowa; as well as Junior Menace director and head coach at the Des Moines Menace Academy in Des Moines, Iowa. Jack Schrader was named head men’s basketball coach and instructor of physical education and sport management. Schrader spent the last 17 years at Truman State University in Kirksville, Mo., including the 16 seasons as the head coach of the Bulldog program. Debra Scoggin/Myers was appointed as C-SC lecturer in art. Scoggin/Myers has previously experience as an art instructor in the Lewis County C-1 School District. Dr. Teather Sundstrom will serve as visiting assistant professor of chemistry. Sundstroms’ most recent experience includes postdoctoral research at the University of Kansas in Lawrence, Kan. Sundstroms’ work has also been featured in a number of research publications. Christine Tracy joins Culver-Stockton as part-time instructor of communication. Tracy previously served as a faculty member at Blue River Community College in Blue Springs, Mo., and as department head and lead teacher for the communication arts department at Harrisonville High School in Harrisonville, Mo. Melissa Young takes over as instructor of physical education and sport management and head women’s basketball coach. Young most recently served as head coach for WCBCL, a semi-pro women’s basketball team, and as associate head women’s basketball coach at Bethany Lutheran College in Mankato, Minn.
