Culver-Stockton continues climb in U.S. News & World Report rankings

CANTON, Mo. – Culver-Stockton College once again ranks among the top post-secondary colleges in the Midwest according to U.S. News & World Report. Since 2007, Culver-Stockton College has climbed 18 spots in the listing, now ranking 30th among the Best Regional Colleges in the Midwest in the 2012 edition of “America’s Best Colleges” published by U.S. News & World Report.
“We are extremely honored to again be listed among the best colleges in the region and proud that Culver-Stockton continues to improve upon its standing. Although the ranking by U.S. New & World Report is not the only measure of educational quality, it serves as a valuable resource for prospective students and their parents during the college search process. Culver-Stockton’s ranking also serves as a reflection of the college’s steadfast commitment to providing students of promise a superb educational experience,” said C-SC President Richard Valentine.
Schools included in “America’s Best Colleges” are judged on a number of criteria, including: student retention, graduation rates and strength of faculty. “The value of a Culver-Stockton College education is evident in the continued success of our students and our graduates. Through our innovative curriculum, students learn the practical applications of the subjects they study; they work side-by-side with expert faculty members and professionals; they travel to immerse themselves in coursework, conduct research and complete internships; and they are truly involved in an educational experience unlike any other. As a result of the distinctive learning environment that we have created at Culver-Stockton College and the dedication of our wonderful faculty and staff, we continue to see an impressive 96 percent of our graduates working or enrolled in graduate school within six months of commencement. The rankings are published in the September 2011 issue of U.S. News & World Report. The annual lists, based on categories created by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching, provide a resource for parents and students in the college search.
