C-SC SIFE representatives earn training conference certifications
Thursday, September 15, 2011

CANTON, Mo. - Members of Culver-Stockton College’s Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) recently earned certificates for their participation in the 2011 SIFE Team Training Conference hosted by the University of Missouri-Kansas City.

Alex Gentner, freshman business major from Urbana, Ill., and Alysia Schubert, freshman business major from Shannon, Ill., completed four SIFE, leadership and career development related courses during the two day conference, which was held September 9 and 10. “You can’t fully appreciate what SIFE is, and what it can do for you, until you go to a SIFE training conference. Anyone that didn’t go, should have gone," Gentner remarked. He and Schubert earned certificates from PMI (Project Management Institute) and Dale Carnegie Training for successfully completing the courses. "From the trip to Kansas City, to my first SIFE training conference, there were many memories we made that I will never forget. The wonderful people I became friends with and the leadership skills that I have learned through this is just the start of my experiences of SIFE."

SIFE advisor, Jeanne Johnson, senior lecturer in management information systems, presented a session on project management roles and community partnerships during the conference. Eric Larson, instructor of economics accompanied the group.
