Culver-Stockton freezes tuition for third consecutive year
Friday, October 14, 2011

CANTON, Mo. – Culver-Stockton College administration today announced the board of trustees has agreed to freeze tuition for the third consecutive year. The announcement follows the fall board meeting at which trustees voted to approve a one-year freeze of tuition at the rate of $22,250. Annual student fee charges will also remain at the current rate of $300. Because of consecutive decisions by the board of trustees, Culver-Stockton College has maintained its tuition and fee rate since the 2009-10 academic year. In addition, the board also agreed to maintain room costs at $3,400 and board costs at $4,200.

The board’s decision to freeze tuition follows news that Culver-Stockton College ranked 30th in the Best Regional Colleges in the Midwest in the 2012 edition of “America’s Best Colleges” published by U.S. News & World Report. “We are proud to offer an educational experience unlike that of any other college or university in the nation. Our 12/3 academic calendar combined with our focus on hands-on learning provides students with knowledge and experiences that go beyond the classroom; which, in turn, results in our graduates being better prepared to pursue their career or graduate school goals,” commented C-SC President Richard Valentine. “But the members of our board of trustees, as well as campus administration, realize that our exceptional academic offerings are only effective if they are accessible. We want our students and their families to know that we share their financial concerns in these difficult economic times. It is our hope that by maintaining our current tuition, room and board rates, we will ensure that an education from Culver-Stockton College continues to be both affordable and accessible,” Valentine continued.

Culver-Stockton College is also proud to offer students and their families a wide array of scholarships, grants and other assistance to help make college more affordable. More than 90 percent of Culver-Stockton students receive financial aid. For more information on financial assistance opportunities, visit www.culver.edu/value.
