Worship service celebrates C-SC, Christian Church covenant

CANTON, Mo. -- Culver-Stockton College will celebrate its historic and ongoing relationship with Canton Christian Church during a worship service Sunday, Feb. 12, 2012.
Members of the college and church will share in the annual Heritage Sunday celebration. Culver-Stockton President Richard Valentine will renew the covenant between the church and college. The service will also include a performance by the Culver-Stockton choir. C-SC alumnus Ron Frazier ’59 will preside over the service. In addition, C-SC students Kayla Pickel, senior criminal justice major from Owaneco, Ill.; Sean McAvoy, junior history major from Bluffton, Ind.; and Rylan Swank, sophomore music education major from Saint Joseph, Mo., will be participating in the service.
Heritage Sunday services begin at 10:45 a.m. at the Canton Christian Church, located at 512 College Street.
Culver-Stockton College has maintained its affiliation with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) since the school was founded by church members in 1853.
