Culver-Stockton welcomes new members to board of trustees

CANTON, Mo. – At its February board of trustees retreat, Culver-Stockton College officially welcomed four new members: Terry Traeder, Kent Clow ’78, Bill Spangler-Dunning ’90, and Bob Stone ’71. “We are excited to welcome our newest board members,” commented C-SC President Richard Valentine. “Each new member brings a unique perspective and skill set to the board that will aid in the college’s mission of providing students of promise a superb education. I look forward to working with our new and existing board members for the benefit of the college.”

Terry Traeder is owner and operator of TNT Golf Car & Equipment Company with locations in Quincy, Ill., and Lake St. Louis, Mo. Founded in 1961 by Gus Traeder (former member of the C-SC Board of Trustees), TNT is the largest Yamaha Golf Car distributor in the nation. Traeder is a 1974 graduate of Colorado State University and is married to Glori Traeder, C-SC class of 1998, who is a certified nurse practitioner with Quincy Medical Group.

Kent Clow is a 1978 graduate of Culver-Stockton College. He and his wife, Peggy Singley-Clow, live in Olathe, Kans. Clow started with Honeywell, previously AlliedSignal, in 1978 at its Phoenix, Ariz., operations and has been the manager of contracts in Honeywell International's Aerospace Business Unit, located in Kansas City, since 2004. Clow is originally from Quincy, Ill., where his parents Evelyn and Pat Clow reside, in addition to his sister and brother-in-law, Patti and Richard McNay.

Bill Spangler-Dunning graduated from Culver-Stockton College in 1990. He continued his education at Lexington Theological Seminary. His first position was as a youth minister in Glasgow, Ky., then moving on to Owensboro, Ky., where he also served also as coordinator for youth ministries for Western Kentucky. There he continued finding ways to bring churches and individuals together through camps and retreats. In April 2011, he was called to be Regional Minister of the Upper Midwest. Spangler-Dunning is the author of more than 65 articles (curriculum), and resides in northeast Mitchellville, Iowa, with his wife, Amy.

Robert Stone is a 1971 graduate of Culver-Stockton. Stone currently lives in Hoffman Estates, Ill., with his wife, Donna. He founded and owns AMS Environmental, where his wife and their son, Alexander, 27, also work. AMS Environmental helps clients with special waste management needs. While most of his business clients are in the Chicago area, his company has expanded into markets such as Atlanta and Houston.

Terry Traeder joins other C-SC board of trustees members from the local area including Robert Ayers ’53 of Ayers Oil Company, Joseph Charles ’60 of Charles Industries Ltd., Tony Crane ’74 of Architechnics Inc., Larry Gorrell ’69 of Wells Fargo Advisors, Don Gnuse ’56 of First Bankers Trust (Board Chairman), Robin Greger ’78, Dell Ann Janney ’87, Associate Circuit Judge David Mobley ‘83 of Ralls County Courthouse, Jason Stratton ’96 of Advance Physical Therapy LLC, Charles Scholz of Scholz & Scholz law offices, and C. Clark Todd of Todd CC DDS PC dentistry.
