Monday, February 27, 2012
CANTON, Mo. -- Culver-Stockton College is again hosting a storm spotter training class on Thursday, March 15 at 6:30 p.m. The program, which is expected to run about two hours, will be conducted in the Robert W. Brown Performing Arts Center on the campus of Culver-Stockton College. Jim Kramper, from the National Weather Service in St. Louis, will be presenting the course material. In addition, meteorologists from the WGEM News StormTrak Weather team will be in attendance.
Emergency response personnel, Culver-Stockton students and interested members of the community are invited to attend this free event. After completing the course, participants may elect to become registered storm spotters by registering with the National Weather Service. Others may want to just view the presentation and become more familiar with severe storms, how to recognize them, and the appropriate precautions to consider. Attendees should bring writing materials for program notes.
Registration for the free storm spotters training class is encouraged. To register please call Carrie Strobel, C-SC director of external campus events at (573) 288-6468. For more information, call or e-mail Bob Sadler at (573) 406-2070 or rsadler@culver.edu.
