Culver-Stockton College accredited status continued by Higher Learning Commission
Wednesday, March 21, 2012

CANTON, Mo. – Culver-Stockton College today announced that the Institutional Actions Council of the Higher Learning Commission, at its February meeting, voted to continue the accredited status of Culver-Stockton College. The Higher Learning Commission is the accrediting body for Culver-Stockton, which allows the school to confer collegiate degrees.

This announcement comes after a comprehensive evaluation of the institution conducted by a four-member team representing the Higher Learning Commission. That team spent three days on the campus of Culver-Stockton College in mid-October 2011. The team visit was preceded by two years of extensive preparation and self-study by the entire campus community guided by a self-steering committee that was chaired by Professor Kim Gaither.
Vice President for Academic Affairs David Wilson noted that the evaluation visit went very well and remarked that “the entire accreditation process has been, as always, an extremely valuable opportunity to affirm all this is good about our wonderful institution, but it has also been an opportunity to grow from what we have learned and to look forward as we plan for improvements in all that we do.”

Culver-Stockton is a private, residential, four-year college Canton, Mo. Culver-Stockton offers a dynamic four year program of studies and experiences by dividing the typical 15-week semester into two terms, a 12-week term and a 3-week term.
