Matriculation Ceremony Welcomes New Students to Campus

The 22nd annual Matriculation Ceremony kicked off the start of the new academic year and welcomed all new students to campus, as it has for the past two decades.
At 4:15 on Friday, August 17, parents and other watched as bagpipers and faculty in full-regalia led incoming freshmen from the Robert W. Brown Performing Arts Center to the steps of Johnson Hall, where the new students entered their names in the Matriculation book. They then walked through Johnson Hall as the members of the student body cheered them on. Students left the ceremony with a new penny to cast into the wishing fountain on the quad.
