Senior Lecturer in Education
Joni Fusselman joined the Culver-Stockton faculty in August 2016. She teaches a variety of early childhood courses along with literacy methods, social studies methods, Explorations and Foundations of Education, and the sophomore field experience courses. Fusselman also is the faculty sponsor for the Culver-Stockton Teacher Organization, which provides education students with professional development opportunities, as well as planning events with local school districts.
Fusselman previously taught in a first-grade classroom at Mark Twain Elementary School in Hannibal, Mo., and taught in a preschool classroom at Happy Trails Preschool in Canton, Mo. She is working on her doctor of education degree in reading/language and literacy from Concordia University Chicago, with an expected finish date of summer 2021.
She is a member of the Missouri Association of Colleges for Teacher Education, the National Association for the Education of Young People and the International Literacy Association.
Fusselman lives in Lewistown, Mo., with her husband. They have four children and one granddaughter. They enjoy fishing, traveling and spending time together as a family.
