Lecturer in Business
Maria Berhorst joined the Culver-Stockton faculty in August 2019. She teaches courses on business management, human resources management and healthcare management.
Berhorst is the founder and owner of the 10th Street Children's Academy in Quincy, Ill. The childcare center serves more than 150 children ages 6 weeks to 6 years and employs more than 30 people.
She was the chief clinical officer and chief operations officer for Quincy Medical Group from 2013 to May 2019. She oversaw clinical operations and all clinical services, and she was responsible for more than 400 staff positions. She led clinic operations, maintained oversight of facilities and grounds, project management and the development and implementation of new service lines.
Berhorst is a certified professional in healthcare risk management. She was the senior director of risk management at QMG from 2010-2013 and the clinical risk manager at Blessing Health System from 2006-2010.
