Culver-Stockton College Concert and Chamber Choirs will join the C-SC Wind Ensemble in a program in which serious expressions of the time-honored past anchor an effervescence of lively cheerfulness that concert goers know as Pops.
The Chamber Choir spans a spectrum from Vaughan Williams? Five Mystical Songs to Alexandre Desplat?s My Love is Always Here from the Harry Potter movie franchise. The Concert Choir contrasts Orban?s Daemon Irrepit Callidus with a VOCES8 piece by Kate Rusby, Underneath the Stars. Dr. Scott Allison, Assistant Professor of Music, directs both choirs.
For the C-SC Wind Ensemble, conducted by Associate Professor of Music Dr. Trent Hollinger, this concert serves as a send-off for their annual tour from February 28th to March 3rd with the C-SC Jazz Ensemble. In addition to samples of repertoire prepared for church and school concerts on the road, this concert premieres a piece written by Junior Composition & Technology Major Zayne Gaus, and features the winner of the annual C-SC Concerto and Aria competition.
This concert is free and open to the public. For more information, call the Fine Arts Office at 573-288-6346.
