Action Committees
Tri-State Development's Action Committees bring together partners from across the region to examine shard challenges and opportunities, exchange information, and identify practical ways to support communities across county and state line. Over the past year, the committees focused on priority issues identified by the Tri-State Development Advisory Board, with their work resulting in new resources, tools, and opportunities for regional collaboration.
Policy & advocacy Committee
The Policy & Advocacy Committee brought together regional leaders, practitioners, and partners to better understand issues affecting communities across the Tri-State region. Through shared learning and cross -state dialogue, the committee explored challenges, highlighted successful approaches, and developed practical information and resources that communities throughout the region can use.

What's Next
Building on the committee's work, Tri-State Development will continue these conversations through the Regional Issues Summit Series. Beginning in 2027, the series will bring together community leaders, businesses, educators, service providers, and regional partners to explore shared issues, learn from one another, and identify opportunities that may benefit from continued region discussion.
River, Road, & rail committee
The River, Road, Rail committee brought together transportation agencies, economic development organizations, port partners, and community leaders from across the Tri-State region. Through regional discussions and information sharing, the committee strengthened transportation partnerships, increased understanding of transportation priorities across the three state, and clarified
Tri-State Development's role as a regional convener.

What's Next
Beginning in 2027, the River, Road, & Rail Committee will meet quarterly, with additional meetings scheduled as needed to address emerging transportation issues and opportunities. Tri-State Development will continue bringing transportation partners together, sharing information across state lines, and connecting communities with available resources and expertise.
Rural Retention & Attraction Committee
The Rural Retention & Attraction Committee brought together community leaders to better understand what influences people to live, work, and build their future in the Tri-State region. Through regional data, student input, and committee discussions, the group identified shared strengths and challenges and developed practical tools to help communities attract, retain, and reconnect with talent.

What's Next
In 2027, the Rural Retention & Attraction Committee will shift its focus from developing tools to helping communities put them into practice. The committee will work to expand use of the Regional Messaging Toolkit, gather examples from communities, and explore ways to strengthen connections with students, alumni, former residents, and young professional across the region.
