Assistant Professor of Education
Background
Lindsay Uhlmeyer joined the Culver-Stockton faculty in August 2018 as an adjunct education instructor, and she became a full-time assistant professor in August 2020. She teaches education courses on child and adolescent development, content literacy, psychology and educating exceptional children and language development of children.
She has taught Title I reading in grades K-6 for the Canton R-V Schools in Canton, Mo., since 2018, and she previously taught secondary communication arts in Canton from 2008-18. She also has teaching experience at John Wood Community College in Quincy, Ill., and for the Clark County R-I Schools in Kahoka, Mo.
Uhlmeyer is a member of the International Literacy Association, the Missouri State Teachers Organization and the Missouri Basketball Coaches Association. She was a Scholastic Bowl coach from 2010-20, and she has coached girls basketball since 2006. She now serves as an assistant varsity coach at Canton High School.
Uhlmeyer lives in Canton, Mo., with her husband, Jesse. They have four children.
