Background

Dr. Seale has a passion for liberal arts education and his experience as a student, faculty member, and administrator at small liberal arts institutions has strengthened his support for this type of educational environment. In addition to his leadership responsibilities, the provost will work to create a unified vision and implement strategies to boost the entire student experience, aiding in retention, student success, student satisfaction, and achievement of learning outcomes.

Dr. Seale joined Culver-Stockton College on July 1, 2025. Previously serving as Assistant Vice President for Academic Affairs at Lindsey Wilson University (Columbia, KY.), Seale brings extensive leadership experience to the role. At Lindsey Wilson, he served as the accreditation liaison to the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC), managed state authorization in six states, oversaw the assessment program for the entire university, was responsible or submitting grant-writing initiatives. Seale was also active with SACSCOC, having served as a peer reviewer for other colleges and universities.

Prior to his time at Lindsey Wilson, Dr. Seale was the Director of Institutional Effectiveness at Carson-Newman University, where he also had a long and distinguished career as a faculty member and administrator, serving as a professor of physics and a department chair.

Education

Dr. Seale earned his bachelor of Arts in Physics from Wabash College (Crawfordsville, IN.), where he graduated Summa Cum Laude and was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa. He then received both his Master of Science and his Doctorate in Physics from the College of William and Mary (Williamsburg, VA.).
