Background

W.G. Lewis joined Culver Stockton College as the Assistant Director of Safety and Security in June of 2021. He brings 26 years of law enforcement experience to the college. He was promoted to Director of Safety and Security in 2022 and has been serving in that position to date. He is tasked with supervising and scheduling the campus safety department. Giving various presentations to students and employees concerning campus safety and security along with administering and creating college policies. Previously he served 21 years in the Overland Park Kansas Police Department with various roles as a patrol officer, traffic officer, he taught DARE and was a school resource officer from 2000 to 2021. Prior to that he was the Chief Deputy Sheriff for the Lewis County Missouri Sheriff's Office from 1997 to 2000. He started his law enforcement career with the Canton Missouri Police Department where he worked as a Patrolman from 1995 to 1997. During his time at the Missouri police academy, Law Enforcement Training Institute (LETI located in Columbia Missouri at the University of Missouri) WG was voted class president and best overall trainee.
