Dr. Dell Ann Janney, Professor of Accounting at Culver-Stockton College (C-SC), has been named the 2026 recipient of the International Accreditation Council for Business Education’s (IACBE) Accounting Faculty of the Year award.

The award recognizes an educator who demonstrates excellence in teaching accounting and a strong commitment to the accounting profession and the IACBE. Janney was honored at the IACBE Annual Conference and Assembly Meeting (ACAM) earlier this year.

“Dr. Janney has spent her career raising the bar for accounting education at Culver-Stockton, and this recognition from IACBE reflects the same dedication her students and colleagues have seen for years,” said Julie Straus, Chair of C-SC’s Division of Business, Education, Art, and Media. “She has helped shape Culver-Stockton’s business programs at every level, and we’re proud to see her honored on a national stage.”

Janney’s ties to IACBE run deep. In 2003, she led the pursuit of specialized accreditation for the College’s business programs, selecting IACBE as the accrediting body and completing the re-accreditation process during her tenure as Business Division Chair. She has since attended numerous IACBE regional conferences and presented a session at the IACBE International Conference in Zurich, Switzerland.

Janney’s leadership at Culver-Stockton extends well beyond accreditation. In 2011, she was named Associate Dean for Experiential Education, overseeing college-wide initiatives in the field. In 2013, she established and completed the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) approval process to launch the College’s MBA program. In 2018, she spearheaded an HLC Quality Initiative that included creating assessment criteria for all areas of Experiential Education, establishing the Experiential Education Academy at Culver-Stockton, and founding an experiential learning center–the Johnson-Turner IDEA Center for experiential activities.

Her contributions to experiential education have earned national recognition. In 2021, the Society for Experiential Education (SEE) named her its Outstanding Leader. She currently serves on SEE’s Board of Directors, where she co-chairs the Committee on Strategic Marketing and serves as faculty for the SEE Experiential Education Academy.

Janney is also a longtime leader in the accounting profession. For the past 25 years, she has served the local Quincy Chapter of the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA), including as former President and current Treasurer. She has chaired the National IMA Student Conference and was a General Session presenter at the Tulsa IMA Chapter Annual Conference in 2025. Under her guidance, Culver-Stockton’s IMA Student Chapter has received the Gold Award of Excellence year after year, including in 2026.
