Background
After having worked in healthcare information technology for 10 years, Dr. Joseph Liesen came to Culver-Stockton in February 1997 as the Director of Information Technology responsible for all campus technology for both the administrative and academic sides of the institution.
He assumed additional responsibilities as the Director of Facilities in 2011 and began teaching as an adjunct in 2016.
He is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and is a certified Experiential Educator through the National Society for Experiential Education.
Liesen was the recipient of the President's Award for exemplary service to the college in 2016.
He received his masters degree from the University of Illinois in 2006 and his Doctorate degree (DBA) from NorthCentral University in 2016.
Liesen became a full time faculty member in 2022 in the new Computer and Data Science program.
Liesen lives in Quincy, IL, with his wife Brenda. He enjoys traveling, home improvement, and spending time with his grandchildren.
