Background

Dr. Katie Marney is the Director of the Carl Johann Memorial Library at Culver-Stockton College. She has a Ph.D. in Information with a minor in Comparative World History from the University of Arizona, with research focusing on self-publishing trends in the United States in the digital age. She also received her Master of Arts in Information Resources and Library Science from the University of Arizona, where she was a member of the Organization for the Study of Non-Traditional Book Publishing. Dr. Marney received both her Bachelor and Master of Arts in History degrees from Central Washington University in Washington state. She previously taught the global history of books, printing, and publishing at the School of Information at the University of Arizona. In addition to her role as Library Director, Dr. Marney also teaches history courses and serves as Culver-Stockton's Accreditation Liaison Officer to the Higher Learning Commission. She serves on the board of the Canton Public Library, and served on the MOBIUS Consortium board of directors, where she acted as treasurer.
