Background
Ralph Buckner joined the Culver-Stockton faculty in August 2022. He teaches Freshman writing composition courses, as well as creative writing workshops and YA literature. He also supervises the student-lead publishing team of the school’s award-winning literary magazine, Harmony. He is also in charge of the English department’s annual Young Writers Conference that invites high school students from the Tri-State area to attend writing workshops around campus. Buckner previously worked from 2011 to 2016 as a high school English teacher at Bradley Central High School in Cleveland, Tennessee. He also has experience teaching as a lecturer at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and the University of Memphis. He is a member of The Art Center and the non-profit organization, Friends of the Library, both in Quincy, Il. His fiction and nonfiction has appeared in Sequoya Review, The Southwestern Review, and Grief Digest Magazine among others. He is also represented by Metamorphosis Literary Agency and is working on the final edits of his YA novel.
