International Students

STEP 1: To be accepted as a student at Culver-Stockton College, you must submit:

• A free application at culver.edu/apply
• Official transcript(s)
• Official ACT / SAT score report
• TOEFL or other English proficiency test score (IELTS, GTEC, PTE, Duolingo)
• Statement of finance and supporting documents (bank statement)

If you are a student athlete, you must additionally:

• Register online at www.playNAIA.org and submit a complete profile
• Have transcripts evaluated at PlayNAIA.org/InCred
• Return your signed Letter of Intent and Scholarship Agreement Form

STEP 2: To get an I-20, you must:

• Pay a $2,000 advance tuition payment
• Turn in your signed financial aid package

After the I-20 has been created:

• Review and sign the I-20
• Pay the I-901 SEVIS fee
• Schedule a visa appointment with the US consulate in your country

STEP 3: The final processes to be completed are:

• Register for classes
• Complete a housing and meal plan form (acceptance Form B on MyCulver)
• Provide proof of immunizations (instructions are found in acceptance Form C on MyCulver)
• Review your billing statement and set up a payment method
• Order textbooks
• Obtain health/medical insurance that can be used at C-SC
• Complete Vivature (Blue Ocean) forms (athletes only)
• Coordinate travel arrangements

Admission standards for first-year international students who have not attended another college or university are:

• Submit a transcript showing a 2.75 GPA on a 4.0 scale or
• Submit a transcript showing a 2.25 GPA and an ACT score of 18 or SAT score of 960 or above

If you are transferring from another college or university, a 2.3 cumulative GPA is required after credit evaluation by our Registrar's Office. Please see the Transfer and Re-Admit Students for more information about Transferring Credit.

English Proficiency: Students are required to be proficient in English. Proficiency in English may be shown by submitting a test score showing a TOEFL score of 61-79, IELTS score of 6.0, or Duolingo score of 60-80.

Transcripts: Transcripts from a high school, college, or university outside the United States, if applicable, must be evaluated using a provider such as InCred or Educational Credential Evaluators (ECE). A fee will be charged by the service provider.

Student-Athletes: InCred is a credential evaluation service that international student-athletes must use to help streamline NAIA athletic eligibility and credential review process. Complete your transcript evaluation at PlayNAIA.org/InCred.

Transfer: Students transferring from another U.S. institution must have their transfer verification form completed and returned by the DSO.

Financial Documentation: The Statement of Finance must be completed and returned with supporting financial documents. Financial documents are usually certified statements from a bank or other financial institution that prove you or your sponsor(s) can cover all educational expenses for the first year of enrollment. Notarized letters of support from financial sponsor(s) are required if your sponsor is not one of your parents. This is waived if the student has proof of government assistance. (example: financial guarantee)

Apply: Students are encouraged to apply prior to June 1 to begin in the fall (August) term. Prior to Nov. 1 to begin spring (January) term. Apply HERE for free. Upon receipt of all application items, your file will be reviewed. If approved, a formal letter of acceptance and acceptance packet will be mailed to your address on file and sent by email.

SEVIS / Student Visa: Accepted students are sent an acceptance packet to complete. As part of the packet, you are required to make an advance tuition payment of $2,000 to Culver-Stockton College, which will then issue your I-20 form. Once the I-20 form has been submitted, students will need to pay the SEVIS I-901 fee.

Once the I-901 fee is paid, the student should make an interview appointment with the nearest US embassy or consulate to obtain a visa.
