Because you care

Studies show many states are facing a looming nursing shortage across all specialties because an aging workforce is about to retire. Those shortages mean opportunities for qualified nurses. Nurses do more than give medicine and treat wounds. They care about their patients, helping them improve their lives and disease outcomes. It’s a profession of constant excitement and challenge.

The C-SC Difference

You will earn your degree through a partnership with Blessing-Rieman College of Nursing & Health Sciences in Quincy, Ill. You complete general education courses and nursing prerequisite courses during the first year on the C-SC campus, then participate in nursing classes and clinical experiences at a variety of agencies, including Blessing Hospital, during the next three years. Blessing-Rieman has a state-of-the-art simulation center with nine life-size anatomical manikins with the same physical features of real humans such as breathing, blinking eyes, heart and lung sounds and giving birth to a baby. Blessing-Rieman has a student-to-faculty ratio of 12:1. Students participate in more than 700 hours of clinical experiences.

Admission Requirements

Freshmen need:

  • Minimum high school GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
    • If below a 3.0, accepted as “pre-nursing” instead of freshman nursing.

Transfers need:

  • Cumulative GPA of 2.7 or higher
  • Support Course GPA of 2.7 or higher
  • Completion of the following prerequisites: English Composition I, General Psychology, Anatomy & Physiology I and II, Lifespan Development

The partnership between Culver-Stockton and Blessing-Rieman provides a unique experience. As a result, I was able to start my clinical experience a year before many other programs I had researched. I’m glad I was able to have an on campus experience while being prepared by Blessing Rieman to become a successful RN.
