Culver-Stockton College recently hired Maria Berhorst as a lecturer in business. Berhorst, who lives in Canton, is the founder and owner of the 10th Street Children’s Academy in Quincy, Ill.

CANTON, Mo. – Culver-Stockton College recently hired Maria Berhorst as a lecturer in business.

Berhorst, who lives in Canton, is the founder and owner of the 10th Street Children’s Academy in Quincy, Ill. The center for children ages 6 weeks to 6 years opened in May, and it will have 142 children and 34 employees when it is at full capacity.

She was the chief clinical officer for Quincy Medical Group from 2013 to May 2019. She oversaw clinical operations and all clinical services and was responsible for more than 400 people on the staff. She also served as chief operations officer at QMG from 2013 to May 2017. She managed and led all clinic operations, managing the facilities and grounds, managing projects and developing and implementing new service lines.

Berhorst also was the senior director of risk management at QMG from 2010-2013 and the clinical risk manager at Blessing Health System from 2006-2010.

Berhorst received her bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Missouri in Columbia in 2004 and her master’s degree with a focus in nursing administration from Walden University in Minneapolis in 2006.
