CANTON, Mo. – Culver-Stockton College inducted 13 students into the Missouri Beta chapter of the Alpha Chi National College Honor Society during a ceremony on April 17 in the Carl Johann Memorial Library on the Culver-Stockton College campus.

Faculty co-sponsors Scott Giltner and Alissa Burger welcomed the new members into the society. Lauren Schellenberger, interim vice president for academic affairs and dean of the College, delivered this year’s charge to the inductees, family and friends.

The students inducted into Alpha Chi were:

  • Mackenzi Anderson, an accounting and finance major from Dallas City, Ill.;
  • Kehley Bitzas, a psychology major from Greenvale, Victoria in Australia;
  • Vanessa Bolen, a psychology major from Beardstown, Ill.;
  • Alex DeWitt, an accountancy major from Canton, Mo.;
  • Megan Erickson, a legal studies major from Port Byron, Ill.;
  • Kailee Gaither, an accounting and finance major from Canton, Mo.;
  • Donald Hegg, a business administration major from Quincy, Ill.;
  • Carly Harper, an English education major from Foristell, Mo.;
  • Kelley Hufendick, an elementary education major from Quincy, Ill.;
  • Agustin Mosquera, a business administration major from San Isidro, Buenos Aires in Argentina;
  • Christopher Peter, an art major from St. Peters, Mo.;
  • Sydney Scott, a psychology and criminal justice major from Metropolis, Ill.;
  • Shelby Winn, a psychology and criminal justice major from Granite City, Ill.

Alpha Chi honors juniors and seniors in the top 10 percent of their class. Founded in 1922, Alpha Chi has more than 300 chapters nationally and works toward the goal of “Making Scholarship Effective for Good.”
