Leslie Payne has been hired as the vice president for advancement and marketing at Culver-Stockton College. She will direct and coordinate strategic planning for capital and alumni campaigns, donor relations, marketing and community relationships.

Payne named vice president for advancement and marketing

CANTON, Mo. — Leslie Payne has been hired as the vice president for advancement and marketing at Culver-Stockton College.

Payne will provide leadership and support to all aspects of development, alumni relations, public relations and marketing. She will build the external financial support necessary for sustaining and advancing Culver-Stockton’s mission and goals and will have a significant role in strategic planning and administrative leadership. She will direct and coordinate the advancement and marketing offices in strategic planning for capital and alumni campaigns, donor relations, marketing and community relationships.

Payne grew up in various parts of the Midwest and is originally from Monroe City, Mo. She has been the director for corporate and foundation relations for the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio since 2016. Payne was responsible for designing, implementing and reporting on a comprehensive development plan. Revenue growth had grown 30.4 percent in the last three years under Payne’s guidance, and new business increased by 56 percent from 2017 to 2019.

Before working for the health science center, Payne was briefly the director of development for San Antonio Pets Alive, and she was the director of development at St. Matthew Catholic School in San Antonio for four years. She also has professional experience in business development, financial analysis and as an international accountant.

Payne earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from William Jewell College in Liberty, Mo., and a master’s degree in business administration from MidAmerica Nazarene University in Olathe, Kan.
