CANTON, Mo. — Culver-Stockton College’s 27th President, Dr. Douglas B. Palmer, planned to run a half-marathon in Indianapolis this fall, but the race has transitioned to a virtual event because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Palmer is using the opportunity to complete the race virtually and also help raise funds for student scholarships. He is showing his willingness to “go the extra mile” for C-SC students by running 14.1 miles, one mile longer than a typical half-marathon, in Canton on Saturday, Nov. 14.
Local businesses, alumni and friends of the College can join Palmer in supporting C-SC students by making a gift to the Student Scholarship Fund before he crosses the finish line. The first 100 donors who make a gift of $25 or more to support the Student Scholarship Fund will receive a commemorative T-shirt.
Palmer has completed three half-marathons, and he finished his first marathon in the fall of 2019. He started running about six years ago to stay in shape, physically and mentally.
