Elaine (Ewell) English graduated in 1967 from Culver-Stockton College with a Bachelor of Science degree in education. She earned a Master of Science degree, specializing in school administration, from the University of California in Long Beach.
As an educator, Elaine’s career covered a broad range: teaching at the elementary level and as a special education teacher, serving as a staff development trainer, a curriculum coordinator, and an educational administrator. She also enjoyed serving as a board member of Raising Today’s Children (a not-for-profit organization in Cook County, Ill.) and also served in several administrative positions within churches.
Elaine’s hobbies include flying small planes, sailing, skiing, diving, tennis, biking, hiking, and volunteering for local arts community events, and environmental events in her community. She has traveled to Romania, Poland, Russia, Scotland, Canada, Mexico, Tonga, Tahiti, the British Virgin and Cayman Islands, New Zealand, and many of the United States. Elaine and her late husband, Floyd have three children: a daughter Roxane Perruso (husband Tom Korver), a son Darryl (wife Lisa), and a daughter Christine Borsom (husband Jay). Elaine served her alma mater on the Culver-Stockton College Board of Trustees as a Board Member since 1995 and currently holds trustee emerita status.
