Position

Dr. Christe Thomas joined the Culver-Stockton faculty in August 2002 as an associate athletic trainer and lecturer. She became a senior lecturer in 2008 and the head women's trainer in 2013. She became the coordinator for clinical education in 2014, and she became the associate chair of the Applied Liberal Arts and Sciences Division in 2018.

Thomas completed her doctoral work in December 2019. Her research project looked at the evaluation process used by athletic trainers when assessing knee injuries and what components are completed when performing knee injury screens. She develops and teaches courses on topics such as upper and lower extremity evaluation, care and prevention of athletic injuries, medical terminology and pharmacology.

Thomas was the recipient of the Helsabeck Prize for Excellence in Teaching in 2015.

She is a member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association, the Mid-America Athletic Trainers' Association and the Missouri Athletic Trainers' Association.

Thomas previously worked at Bradford (Fla.) High School and at the University of Florida in Gainesville, Fla. She lives in Quincy, Ill., with her husband Mark and their three children. She enjoys outdoor activities, reading, home projects and watching her children's sporting activities.
