Background

Kelly Berhorst joined the Culver-Stockton faculty as a full-time lecturer in Agribusiness in August 2024. Prior to that time, she had served as an adjunct for the College since 2005. She also taught dual-credit courses through an arrangement between Culver-Stockton College and Canton R-V High School, where she worked as a business teacher from 1990 to 2020. She presently develops curriculum for and teaches a variety of courses at Culver, including Introduction to Agriculture, Ag Finance, Ag Economics, Emerging Issues in Ag, Principles of Accounting, Computer Applications, Personal Finance, Business Ethics, and Leadership. Between her transition from teaching at Canton R-V to Culver-Stockton College, Berhorst worked at HOMEBANK as a customer service representative.

Behorst earned her master's degree from Western Illinois University and her bachelor's degree from the University of Northern Iowa. She was elected to serve as the Missouri Business Education Association's president-elect / state president / past president from 2006-2009 and served on several committees. She is a certified Microsoft Office User Specialist in Microsoft Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

When Berhorst is not on campus, she enjoys gardening and traveling to any destination offering a beach and sun. She and her husband, John are parents to four children, Brandon, Brittney, Dylan, and Dalton, and two grandchildren. Berhorst and her husband live on a family farm near St. Patrick, Missouri. She volunteers her time as an Eagles Auxiliary member at the Eagles Aerie 1800 in Canton, Missouri, and has served as the organization's president since 2022.
