Background

Syed Husain joined the Culver-Stockton faculty in August 2025. He teaches courses in the department of mathematics and computer science. These courses include Calculus, Differential Equations, Linear Algebra, Elementary and Mathematical Statistics, and Python and Data Science. He taught at Truman State University for 2 years before joining this College. He researches on problems related to Harmonic Analysis, Signal Recovery, and Bessel functions. These problems have found applications in important fields such as medical imaging recovery in MRI and ultrasound, and seismic data recovery, which helps in earthquake detection, and oil and mineral detection. He has supervised students on research problems where monotonicity properties of Bessel functions are studied.

He lives in Canton, Mo, with his wife, Kisa, and son, Baaqir. He enjoys nature, hiking, camping, and photography. He plays sports including tennis, pickleball, and badminton.
