The purpose of this event is to increase students’ awareness of various types of literary texts and concepts, here through the vehicle of reading literary and critical extracts on "spooky" themes, in honor of Halloween. Dr. Buckner and Dr. Burger will prepare and read out loud a number of extracts of creative and critical work on Halloween-related and/or "scary" themes. Students who attend the event will also be invited to share their own readings and extracts with the event. There will be discussion of the texts and themes explored throughout the event. The winners of the "Haunting on the Hill" Harmony writing competition will also be announced.
