The Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity on the Culver-Stockton College campus is the host of its second Watermelon Bust from noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 8.

CANTON, Mo. — The Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity on the Culver-Stockton College campus is the host of its second Watermelon Bust from noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 8.

Several events and games will be available that day. The entry fee for each event is $5 or five non-perishable food items that will be donated to the Lewis County Food Pantry. People also can pay $20 or bring in 20 non-perishable food items to participate in all of the events.

Among the events are a watermelon eating contest, a contest where participants will use a bucket on their head to catch pieces of watermelon thrown by their teammate, a watermelon smashing contest and a watermelon rolling race. A Miss Watermelon Bust pageant also will be held. Concessions will be available.

All activities will take place at Gerlach Hall at the top of the hill on the west side of Ellison Poulton Stadium. For more information, contact Cooper Hudnut at 573-470-3883.
