Culver-Stockton College recently hired Chris Yingling as the coach of the school’s esports teams. Yingling, a native of Warsaw, Ind., earned a bachelor's degree at Taylor University in 2016 and a master's degree at Ball State University in 2018.

CANTON, Mo. — Culver-Stockton College recently hired Chris Yingling as the coach of the school’s esports teams.

Yingling, a native of Warsaw, Ind., earned a bachelor’s degree in public relations at Taylor University in 2016 and a master’s degree in sport administration from Ball State University in 2018. He works for KHQA-TV in Quincy, Ill., as an assignment editor.

The esports coach has the primary responsibility of instructing students on esports and providing leadership in player development, sportsmanship, integrity and character development. Games that the C-SC esports teams play include Overwatch, League of Legends, Rocket League and CS:GO.

Yingling’s love for video games started with Pokemon and Sonic the Hedgehog. As he went to college, he turned to League of Legends.

Yingling and his wife, Bre, are in the process of moving to Palmyra, where they will live with their horse and two cats.
