Steven Walker, a senior art major from Palmyra, Mo., recently had three pieces accepted into the Mary S. Oakley and Lee Lindsay Artist Showcase, which is on display at the Quincy Art Center in Quincy, Ill.

CANTON, Mo. — Steven Walker, a senior art major from Palmyra, Mo., recently had three pieces accepted into the Mary S. Oakley and Lee Lindsay Artist Showcase, which is on display at the Quincy Art Center in Quincy, Ill.

The showcase is open to artists 18 years of age and older living within a 50-mile radius of Quincy. Artists belonging to the Quincy Artist Guild and the Great River Watercolor Society living outside that region also are eligible to enter. Approximately 300 pieces were entered for this year’s showcase, and only 100 were accepted.

Kent Miller, retired professor of theater arts and technical director emeritus at Culver-Stockton, also had three pieces accepted into the showcase. Other Culver-Stockton College alumni accepted into the showcase were Rachel Loyd, Connie Triplett and Bill Yates, whose acrylic piece “Walls & Fences” was awarded Best of Show.
