The play takes place during one night in the life of Aphra Behn, poet, spy, and soon-to-be first professional playwright. Desperate to leave the spy trade, Aphra works feverishly to complete her play by morning despite interruptions from her new, old, and complicated loves – some of whom may or may not be in on a plot to murder the king in the morning. Can Aphra resist her loves’ charms, save the kind, and launch her career in one night? This comedy plays with farce, high wit, and intrigue and also contains adult language and situations.
