The play takes place during one night in the life of Aphra Behn, poet, spy, and soon-to-be first professional playwright. Desperate to leave the spy trade, Aphra works feverishly to complete her play by morning despite interruptions from her new, old, and complicated loves – some of whom may or may not be in on a plot to murder the king in the morning.
